I’m very pleased welcome GTS’ Designer of the Month for June 2014: Susan Crawford. This lady is truly theQueen of vintage knitting, and fits right into the shop like a peg. She has been kind enough to loan me some of her samples. Currently on display are Helen and the Springtime Bolero , and the Sunday Pictorial Beret from A Stitch in Time: Vintage Knitting Patterns, 1930-1959 Vol 2.
Diamonds are Forever and Lion and Unicorn from Coronation Knits, as well the Town and City Tufted Cape, (available as a single pattern) are also available for viewing. In my eyes, these are all MUST knits. Come in and have a look for yourself. All these patterns, along with the perfect wool (Excelana 4ply) are available for purchase in the shop.
I’ve already completed the Plaid Cap from A Stitch in Time: Vintage Knitting Patterns, 1930-1959 Vol 2 , and am deciding what to conquer next.
I’m leaning toward the Town and City Tufted Cape, as I seem to keep needing to try the sample on…
The obvious next move is to make a decision on colour! As you can see, Susan has loads of lovely patterns to her name. Featuring her this month is an absolute treat!
And for those of you getting prepared for the Indie Burgh Yarn Crawl, I am doing a collaboration with Geeky Girls Knit for a special offering on the day on the day of the crawl. Stay turned for the next juicy morsel!
