Vintage Knits

You could say I am quite fond of vintage items, and this translates into my fibre world as well. I have done a bit of vintage knitting in my day. My most recent wardrobe addition was my Put a Bird on It jumper. This is a free pattern on Ravelry. I ended up having some sleeve issues, so just did a wee crochet shell edging instead.

And you have probably seen my Plaid Cap, a pattern from the lovely Designer of the Month, Susan Crawford.

This next piece took A LOT of stitches! Meet my Little Black Dress (LBD). This was a gem of a pattern and inspiration was found in an issue of Vogue Knitting Book, circa 1952 (ish). I heavily adapted this pattern and love the finished results. Fluffy petticoat is a must!

And the vintage knitwear I am probably most proud of is my hand dyed, hand knit Chanel Suit.
