I’ve wrangled together some Learn to Spin Kits for the shop to compliment the Learn to Spin on a Drop Spindle Workshop at the end of this month. This is a one-session workshop on the evening of Thursday 28 August. There are still a few spaces available if you would like to book in for some instruction from the lovely and knowledgeable Kirsten. I’m quite looking forward to seeing a bunch of drop spindles whirling about the shop! As I am not a skilled spinner by any means, I plan to get a bit of practice in too.
The beginner kits are available both online and in the shop if you want to give spinning a go yourself. All kits include an adorably handy drawstring spindle bag in a mystery fabric. They are all different, and it is a surprise of which one you will receive! They make great gifts! Each kit costs £15 and includes:
- Drop Spindle
- Instruction booklet
- 75 grams of British Blue Faced Leicester tops in 3 natural shades (25grams of each); ecru, oatmeal and brown
- Spindle bag
And remember, Ysolda is still Designer of the Month, and GTS is still in possession of all those samples. Come by and try some on, or have a squish of these baby sweaters!
PS: On a slightly unrelated note, I picked up a new everyday petticoat from Lady Jojo’s Botique, and reckon I should now have one in every shade of the rainbow!
