Colony of Artists is coming to my hood this weekend, 20 & 21 September (1pm – 5pm). The Abbeyhill area has developed quite an artistic flare, and at this time every year, loads of flats in the Abbeyhill Colonies open their doors to host a variety of artists in their homes. You will see paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, music and so much more. There are 20 venues participating this year, and it should make for a great weekend. Just keep you eyes peeled for the bunting! Flyers are available in the shop, so feel free to come by and pick one up. Or you can just come by the window to admire the woolly doll house that is currently residing front and centre.
If you come round this weekend, why not make a day of it? You have Manna House Bakery for lunch/baked goods, Thinking Chocolate for some delicious handmade artisan chocolates, and The Safari Lounge for a drink to finish the day off. Did I mention how much I love my neighbourhood?!
