Back on Track

Life of late has been quite busy, and I have not gotten in as much knitting time as I would like. There has been lots of dye studio time and general life happenings. That combined with some knitty start-itis issues meant I was not getting much of anything complete. I would make a mistake on 1 project and have to frog a bit, which would then motivate me to move onto a completely new project entirely. There is a heap of shop knitting and samples to be done! Being very much a product knitter, I like to get things finished and off the needles.

With Socktoberfest well under way, I can now happily report I am back on track. I’ve now completed the first Elgin house sock, and am well on my way with the second sock. This is such a great pattern, and because it is done in Aran weight (Humming Aran in the Bonny Scotland colourway), the reward is quick. The garter stitch toe is just too cute, it can’t help from getting squished after every round.

I’ve also been working on a new sock pattern by Clare Devine called Corrugate, in order to showcase my latest base: Bleating Velvet 4ply. I’ve just dyed up some new coluorways in this base, which should be dry this weekend. Kits coming soon!

Just a couple of wee reminders. The Head to Toe book launch party is happening on Saturday the 11th from 4pm – 6pm. Stop by for a glass of bubbly and get your book signed.

Please note, GTS will be taking a road trip to Glasvegas on Friday and Saturday (17th and 18th October). Ginger Twist Studio is attending Glasgow School of Yarn with all the hand dyed, so the shop will be closed on both Friday and Saturday. Sunday the 19th will put us back on track with our regular opening hours, and sock workshops of course.
