Chunky Knitting: Lapsang

The amazing Clare Devine released a new hat pattern yesterday called Lapsang. This is a chunky quick knit of a hat, and would be a great option for Christmas gifts. It is also (drum roll please) reversible!! I love this pattern so much, I’ve already knit 2 samples. One such sample has been complimented by a pom pom of humongous proportions (made with my extra large pom pom maker). It has been referred to as  a baby gremlin.

This wonderful hat takes 1 skein of yarn, so it is okay to splash out a bit on a squishy hand dyed. I’ve got 2 new bases in that are perfect for this project. The photo above is made out of a skein of Chunky Baby. This is 100% baby alpaca and has a beautiful bloomin’ halo.

This version is fashioned out of a skein of Flumps Chunky.  This soft and squishy yarn is made from 100% superwash merino. Although I don’t encourage throwing hand dyed yarn in the washer, at least this won’t felt on you by mistake.

And in other exciting news, the complete club subscriptions from the Best of British Yarn Club 2015 are now sold out. There are just a couple singles left if you want to snatch one up. They sold like hot cakes folks! And if you haven’t seen, check out our adorable logo, created by the always clever and talented Mr. Toontrait.
