Knock on Wool 2015

Knock on wool, 2015 is thus far lookin’ swell! The parcels from Ginger Twist Studio’s first yarn club collaboration with Clare Devine were all posted off yesterday. This yarny adventure sold out within the first week of its announcement, which was a pleasant surprise. For those of you who missed out, you will be happy to know the next Best of British yarn club is already being plotted. Clare and I  both feel passionate about small flocks and interesting yarns, and it is lovely to see other folks feel the same way!

The Wool of the Month is a wonderfully sheepy yarn from Gam Farm Rare Breeds. It is a rustic double knit made of 80% Whitefaced Woodland and 20% British Alpaca. This yarn comes from a small farm in the Yorkshire Dales, and everything is spun up at the Halifax Spinning Mill. Not everyone knows what to do with white/natural wool, so I’ve made up Snell kits! This cowl is perfect for the season, and requires 2 shades of DK. So for £24.50 you get your Whitefaced Woodland DK, a skein of Brigantia DK in a colour of your choosing, the pattern (along with complimentary download code) and a lucky dip project bag. Just indicate in the order notes which shade you would like, if it is different than what is already listed. Here are a few photos of my Snell sample. I always have fun with Clare on a photo shoot day.
